My lion is fed,
I sleep at his side.

Jack Kerouac, Dharma Bums
Long and languid at evenings end, I sprawl across the linens
feeling twice my size and half my weight.
He curls into my side, collapsing in upon himself.
Head heavy on my breast, arm draped across my body —
I am the frame on which he hangs himself to keep his shape intact.

  2. Love it… you as the frame against which he shapes himself; he as the warm curling heft that adds meaning and purpose to your frame.
