For your amusement (and for your information), I present the sixteenth installment in Dumb Domme’s BDSM Lexicon, “butt plug.”

butt plug,  n.,  /bʌtpləg/ (IPA)   [buhtpluhg] (spelled)

basic butt plugs

Definition:

butt plug, n.,: a sex toy designed for insertion in the anus. Typically, butt plugs have a tapered end for insertion and wide base to prevent the toy being lost in the rectum.

Usage:

“After accidentally knocking it into a butt plug, I had to burn my toothbrush.”

“Don’t ever wear a butt plug during allergy season. I won’t get into the details, but once, I sneezed too hard and lost both my favorite wine glass and my dignity.”

Explanation:

Butt plugs can be used to relax and stretch the anus in preparation for anal play. Additionally, both men and women may enjoy the feeling of being “filled up.” Butt plugs can also be used to reinforce submission, maintain good posture, or to humiliate. For men, plugs may also help to stimulate the prostate.

There are four types of plugs: basic, inflatable, prostate massagers, and novelty/tail plugs. Basic plugs come in a variety sizes, colors, and materials, but most have the same basic shape with a tapered end for insertion and a wide base. Inflatable plugs are inserted and then pumped up with air, most often for use in stimulating the prostate. Prostate massagers aren’t necessarily shaped like plugs, but are designed and shaped to stimulate a man’s prostate. Novelty & tail plugs are funny.

Butt Plug Tips:

  • Do tell your partner before you shove anything in their butt.
  • Do use lots of lubricant.
  • Don’t use a compromised or damaged plug to decrease the risk of tearing delicate tissue.
  • Don’t put something in your butt that might get lost.
  • Don’t purchase used butt plugs.
  • Don’t keep butt plugs near toothbrushes.

Does Dumb Domme?:

I do not use butt plugs. I have no butt plug bias, I’ve just found no reason to use one myself. However, I have a collection of plugs for J–enough of them to make my own butt plug army.

  1. I recently found your blog and I think it's great. You have a wonderful sense of humor. I especially like your lexicon posts. Very original!! Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers

  2. Thanks @lovetosubmit!

  3. Out of completely idle curiosity, is there a particular plug you’d recommend to beginners?

    • Yes, but it depends on what it’s for. I mean, I know it’s for your butt, but, is it for wear/use/manipulation during play or for wearing while walking around/doing other things?

      • Hey hey now! I said this was idle curiosity. besides I’m only asking for a friend. And he said that hypothetically something for wear/prostate stimulation during play.

        • Prostate stimulation = Aneros. You’re welcome. I mean, you’re friend is welcome.

I have a couple of different models… not for me, of course, for a friend. :)
